Drop In Centre:
To provide a forum whereby Asians can come to air their views concerns and worries.
Advice Centre:
Giving support and providing advice on welfare rights, housing, advocacy, health, social services, counselling and disabled equipment etc.
Guidance Service:
To provide young, older disabled Asians with guidance, information and to promote career opportunities.
Home Help:
FAST's Management members, staff and volunteers provide Home Help, i.e. assisting disabled people in the home with feeding, washing, shopping, ironing, laundry, cleaning, form-filling, letter writing, making telephone calls, etc. this enhances disabled Asians' "quality of life".
Assisting and facilitating:
Providing a centre for individuals and families to attend, and FAST on their behalf makes telephone calls, and assists with letter-writing and form filling. This enables Asian people to communicate effectively with statutory agencies etc. while at the same time empowering individuals.
Escorting Services:
Assisting and escorting service for disabled Asians who find themselves house bound. Members of FAST take individuals, couples and families to and from hospital, clinic, G.P.'s surgeries, immigration units, police etc.
Translation and Interpreting Services:
This service enables Asian people to understand better the implications and issues concerning health, financial and social benefits. These Asians are normally unable to speak or read English, therefore letters and telephone conversations are translated and interpreted.
Equipment Loan Service:
Fast provide a small range of basic mobility equipment which is for people who are in urgent need or whilst waiting for supply or equipment from the social services for a short period of time.
Scooter Service (3 wheeler):
FAST provide a battery operated 3 wheeler scooter for shopping. Disabled people who cannot walk can use this service for two hours. Through volunteers, FAST provide instructions on how to use/operate the scooter.
Music Teaching Service:
Fast provide a sophisticated electronic organ through which the disabled people can learn music. This service is given through volunteers who will teach the disabled people how to use the equipment.
Projects:
Pathway to Employment and Work (P2E);
Through this project FAST increases the employment prospects of local, unemployed Asians who are interested in working with Asian disabled people and seek job opportunities in the care sector. Volunteers will equally gain opportunities to develop their work experience and increase their job prospects. All volunteers involved will be able to increase their knowledge through a range of courses accredited through NVQ level 1 / 2 and GNVQ.
Information Technology Project:
This project is open to all those using the facilities of FAST. The project aims to increase skills to recognised levels, in order to increase the employment prospects. The project runs in partner-ship with colleges, universities, and other educational establishments, in order to enable participants to achieve qualifications.

Independent Asian Living Centre, Asian Language Classes, Asian Cultural/Religious Activities, National Day Ceremonies, Home Cooking Workshops, Radio Transmission, English Classes, Lunch Club, Sewing and Design Course, Community Health Project, Leisure Activities, Library, Asian Meals on Wheels, Project for Deaf and Blind people, Youth Activities, including sports, Respite Care facilities.
